Bharat yoga spiritually…

Eko sd vipra bahudha vadanti’ (truth is one but defined differently by saints and sages for ages) Basically Yoga is merger of individual soul to Divine, the means or kriyas adapted to reach this ultimate goal are called applications of yoga or yog sadhan and the dedicated and devoted practice undertaken under the tutelage of spiritual master is called yog practice or yog sadhna. This yog sadhna enables one to know the self and finally blend in to ultimate. This realization ensures liberation from all types of sorrows and stay in eternal bliss -- beyond life and death.

Though yog has been classified and defined with different names such as: Karm Yog, Bhakti Yog, Gyan Yog, Hath Yog and Raj Yog etc., and most of people believe that a yog seeker should practice any one of the above but this is a wrong notion. Actually Karma, Bhakti, Gyana, Sankalp and Shakti all are integral parts of individual personality and all these parts have to go together on the path of yog sadhna. Mahershi Patanjali has combined and put all together in Yog Darshan known as Yog Sutra also. This Patanjali school of thought is also popular as Raj Yoga.  This Yog Sutra (formula of yog) may be explained as yog sutra (thread of yog that goes through all streams of yog sadhna) as it is so wonderful a source of joining and combining all the different looking streams of yog together, giving them a shape of mala (garland). In fact we can’t ignore any of these important aspects of life, Karma, Bhakti, Gyan, Sankalp and Shakti (Action, Devotion, Knowledge, Determination and Strength).

Mahershi Patanjali has begun his Yog Darshana as ‘Ath Yog anushasnam’ (this is Yog discipline) and ‘Yogeh chitt vritti nirodeh’ and (Yog discipline is nothing but controlling and streamlining the mental modifications). Different ways and devices have been provided by Mahershi Patanjali to check the mental modifications and go into yogic discipline and these are called ‘eight folds of yog’ (ashtang yog). The eight folds of yog are, Yama (the five rules of self restraints), Niyama (the five self observances), asana (yogic postures), Pranayaam, Pratyahara, Dharna, Dhyan and Samadhi. Some modern Yoga teachers have picked up just a little from any sutra or fold of Patanjal Yog Darshan and launched it with different names or with their own names. People may be benefited with their teachings for tiny gains but it is never a perfect face of yoga.

Yoga in true sense is a state of going beyond body and mind and joining the individual energy with the cosmic energy. It is a merger and becoming ‘Sindhu’ (ocean) of a ‘Bindu’ (drop), a small molecule blending in with the absolute. For this reason only great yogis of Indian tradition have been applying the holy mantra of “OM” (the cosmic sound) more strong than “B’om’b” yet sweetest and away from any destruction or the mantra “Soham” (merging ‘Ahem’ i.e. ego in to ‘So’ i.e. the absolute) exploring the sure possibility of growing and turning individual into absolute. Spiritual masters or ‘Gurus’ of great Indian yoga traditions have been transmitting application of these great mantras with proper technique to work effectively deeper into the subject or the ‘yoga learner’ to invoke divinity hidden and lying deep due to darkness of ignorance within him. It is the technique of yoga that infuses in to the day to day life of a yoga aspirant and brings a dyanamic change in his life style and his approach towards life. Yoga is the science of right living and works on all aspects of the individual may it be physical, mental, vital, emotional, psychic and spiritual. Practically speaking, yoga aims at balancing and harmonizing the body, mind and emotions and it is gained through practice of yama, niyama, shatkarma, asana, pranayam, mudras, bandhas and meditation.

Yoga works at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels all together. Yog sadhna reflects on our outermost part the physical body as the balance gained through yog sadhna is experienced at different organs, muscles and nerves as it brings the different functions in to perfect coordination. The same is the case with mental and emotional levels. Interfractons of everyday life lead the man to stress, tension and fear resulting in to fobia and neurouses etc. Applied yoga develops awareness of he inter relation among the physical, mental and emotional levels. Such applicaton of yog leads the yoga enthusiast away from darkness of vices, pains, sufferings, worries and sorrows and decorates him with the bright day light of positive thinking, divine living, paramount joy and blissful state of mind. It is an easy, sure and the only way to overcome the mental impurities that lead an individual to physical impurities in form of sickness. It is already established that the man peaceful, positive, transparent and delighted at mind always stay healthy and has got no reason to suffer from complicated ailments.

Bharat Yog is an honest effort to save the original form of yog science introduced by Indian Rishis to benefit the  humanity without any discrimination of caste, color, country or sex as these Rishis have been looking at this entire universe as one abode:

“Ayam nijeh paroveiti gannam laghu chetsaam,

Uudaar charitanaam tu vasudhaiv kutumbkam.”

(this is mine and this is others such discrimination is the thinking of shallow thinking people, for broad hearted ones this entire universe is one great family.

Yoga, contrary to the common belief, is NOT just a set of physical and respiratory exercises. Yoga is NOT only about asanas, pranayamas or bandhas, mudras and meditation. Its sphere transcends the limits of physical health, beauty or mental solace. In fact, these are the natural outcome of yogic state of being. We are grossly mistaken if we try to confine it to just being an alternate therapy or just a source of health and longevity. There are examples that ‘Bhasmantmidam shariram’ -- the physical existence of a being concludes into Bhasma i.e. ashes -- may it be after burning or burying. Even the greatest of yogis of their times, may it be Lord Krishna, Janak, Ram Krishna Paramhansa, Vivekananda, Swami Dayananda or many more, had to die.

Disease free state of being, beauty and longevity besides joyful state of mind are the ‘Prasada’ (natural and preliminary outcome) of practicing Yoga.

Yoga, in its true sense is a state of reaching beyond body and mind and joining the individual energy with the cosmic energy. It is best described as becoming ‘Sindhu’ (ocean) of a ‘Bindu’ (drop), a small molecule blending in with the absolute. For this reason only, the great yogis in Indian history have been applying the holy chant of “OM” (the cosmic sound) which is stronger than ‘B-om-b’, yet is the sweetest and is far from being destructive or the mantra “Soham” (merging ‘Ahem’ i.e. ego in to ‘So’  i.e. the absolute) exploring the sure possibility of turning individual into absolute. Spiritual masters or ‘Gurus’ of great Indian Yoga tradition have been inculcating the application of these great mantras, with proper techniques to work effectively, deeper into the subjects or the ‘Yoga learners’ to invoke divinity hidden and lying deep due to darkness of ignorance within them.

. India is the place where yoga originated for the benefit of humanity at large without any discrimination. ‘Sankhya yog darshana’ (Sankhya, a philosophy of yoga) says, ‘Dukh trya abhighatad jigyasa tad apghatake heto’  ( the increasing pains and sorrows in the life of modern man compelled him to think for some way out to get rid of these sorrows and the sure and only answer being ‘yoga’ entire world is attracted towards it as it does not only enable us to get rid of sorrows and sickness but blesses us with sanctity and spiritual bliss.

How we face a challenge or tackle a problem Is entirely on us. EVEN THE MOST SUCCESSFUL ONE IS NOT WITHOUT A PROBLEM.  The trick lies in Yoga.

Just being a yoga practitioner one can be happy and satisfied in life. Yoga touches all the levels of human life- PHYSICAL,MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL as well  as SPIRITUAL and helps in pleasant feelings and constructive images.
